Christ, people are COMPLAINING about what DAWKINS agreed to? ::)

Good job by both sides to get it done.

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, just a little shocked. I'm damn shore not complaining that they signed their best defensive player in the 90's to an extension.

Spell Check complete! Gimme' another beer!

I forgot we are not allowed to "bitch" on this board or have our own opinion. :-X

Oh and since we were talking about Dawk being a potential HOFer in another thread I was just curious other than Ronnie Lott who was the last safety to make it?

That, more than anything... will be what keeps Dawk out if he doesn't make the Hall.  Safety is a pretty tough position to get into the HOF from.  Now, Dawkins has been a HUGE part of changing the perception of what a saftey can do in today's NFL.  Let's hope that carries over when it comes time to vote.

There's a thread in his forum concerning the rumor.

Spadaro posted a  ;D  with the words "no comment" under it.

You be the judge.

I'm sorry.  I mistook you for someone who didn't read all that tripe.

QuoteDawkins Agrees On Two-Year Deal

August 6, 2006
By DAVE SPADARO

CANTON, Ohio -- Brian Dawkins wants to play his entire career with the Eagles and the team wants Dawkins to stay. And for two more seasons after this one, Dawkins will be where he wants.

The Eagles announced on Sunday that Dawkins has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension, removing any doubt about the star safety's future here.

News broke a few weeks ago that the Eagles had approached Dawkins about a contract extension, and Dawkins confirmed that information early in training camp.

But the story faded into the background as camp intensified, although the Eagles and Dawkins continued to talk.

Dawkins continues an impressive run for the Eagles. They've signed offensive guard Shawn Andrews, center Jamaal Jackson and now Dawkins since June.

Dawkins was always a priority. He has been a stellar piece of the defensive backfield since 1996 when he joined the team as a second-round draft choice.
