Why and what was Freddie Mitchell just blabbing on DNL?

I can understand Arrington and Morton (Emmons was cut too), but cutting Pettigout makes no sense. They don't have a reliable backup and servicable LTs don't grow on trees.

They're now saying it's Arrington, Emmons, and Pettigout - not Morton.

It's no surprise that their new DC doesn't value linebacking.

I can't blame them for cutting Arrington. There's a rumor making the rounds that Pierce and Briggs are tight and that Pierce is trying to sway him towards the Giants.

I'll say it - Arrington would be great for the Eagles on the cheap.  Right now, the Eagles LB's give up big plays and make very few of their own.  At least Arrington would make some big ones too.

If he wants another big dollar contract, though... no.  Not worth the cap space.

SD_Eagle5

I'd take Arrington in a Barber-like role with a Barber-like deal.

SunMo

i would agree if, he wasn't coming off an achillies injury.  it seems that it's harder to comeback from that than a knee injury

Didn't he just announce that he's retiring?  Or is that the joke??

I thought the same thing today as soon as I heard they cut him. Bad as our linebackers are, he'd be an improvment.

Eagaholic

I suspect they will put Diehl at LT. He's stronger and more physical than Pettigout and would suite more of a power running game for Jacobs.

Diomedes

That's exactly what the Post is saying they'll do.

There is talk on NFL radio that he is considering retirement.
