I thought the Wire was some of the best tv ever so your logic is a little flawed. Really though, you should give it a chance. It's not your corny John Wayne type western.

General_Failure

You motherfargers watch entirely too much tv, and that shtein is rotting your brains. I couldn't do that without it cutting into my 18 hours of daily youtube videos.

I'm completely indifferent to it.

MDS, you know more about tv and whats on than anyone here and you've never watched Hell on Wheels not even once? Why?

because it looks boring and zesty

and also i dont watch that much tv anymore. my standards are too high...i cant watch B level shows. it needs to be grade A shtein or i am OUT
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I watch Hell on Wheel and I really like it...but I enjoy "modern" Westerns.  Common is a terrible actor though.

shorebird

I don't see why people think Common isn't a good actor.

I guess you can call it a 'modern' western, I like to say that it's more authentic than anything else that's been on tv. Even the Colt that Bohannon uses is period correct.

When I'm paying for Directv, DVR, HDTV, and everything else that comes with it I'm gonna' do my best to enjoy it.

The Bridge isn't a bad show either.

ice grillin you

i dont watch many shows these days since i dont have hbo anymore but the bridge has to be the best show on tv right now

its lovely

By "modern" I really mean "any western made after like 1990"  Young Guns or Tombstone, for example.  John Wayne-type westerns get the gas face for not only being practically unwatchable, but for being as historically accurate as the bible.

And people think Common isn't a good actor because Common isn't a good actor.  Not really much gray area with that one.  Put it like this.....his role on Hell on Wheels is the best that I've seen from him and I'd say that he's still giving a below average performance.  I like his character but I'm not a big fan of the way he's portraying it.  He's just ok and was probably given the part because his name might help attract some younger viewers.

It helped a whole lot with Zune sales.

In random TV musings, Kevin Spacey: TV audiences 'want to binge'

Quote"Give people what they want, when they want it, in the form they want it in, at a reasonable price, and they'll more likely pay for it rather than steal it.

I kinda wish common sense didn't have to be news.
