Known actor playing a bald middle aged white man turning to crime, trying to convince themselves they're doing it for their family and not the thrill and killing or disposing of anyone who gets in their way?

I don't see the resemblence.

in theory its similar and cut from the same cloth...presentation wise couldnt be more different.

Breaking Bad would benefit from more procedural police drama subplots. Ones without the brother-in-law. Just give me ten minutes every episode of Bob Odenkirk and C C H Pounder interacting.

Yea apparently.

And I actually love Hank. He annoyed the farg outta me early on in the show as I thought he was generic white faux tough guy cop but he's become a really solid character.

i agree...hank is the best character on the show imo

the shootout scene with him in the parking lot is an all time great tv scene

Hank definitely got better, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does in this last half a season.

I did a rewatch of every episode leading up till tonight. Hank has some of the best one liners. These last 8 episodes are all about him getting his revenge.

when they do a 50 year look back at the wire the fact that it wasnt a cultural phenomenon will be for the best

even the sopranos stuff got tiring and that was before social media exploded. the wire was this great secret that eventually white people found and are still finding. and it again showed that people miss the best things because they are too busy doing what advertising and popularity tell them to do
