perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

The series ended a year or two too late, but the finale of House was negative but satisfying.  I don't think anyone else here watches it though, so not worth wasting anymore time talking about it...

Munson

I watched the finale despite not really keeping up with the series the last season and a half or so. I think the last episode I watched was House and Cuddy breaking up and him relapsing. I watched enough to know what happened more or less after that, but I wasn't watching every Monday night.

The finale definitely seemed a bit rushed and empty to me, but I still enjoyed it.

looking forward to tonight -- they actually filmed a battle, hopefully it turns out well.

Munson

The King in the North! (Even though this episode will probably be all Lannisters/Boratheans)

Also, the dialogue between Tyrion and Vaerys last week was farging hilarious.

Television doesn't get much better than that episode of Game of Thrones.

Was that the guard that Joffrey assigned to represent him on the battlefield that struck Tyrion?

Munson

Spoilers ahead, don't read.........

Good catch SD, I think it was. farg...that is really gonna farg with some things for next season if Joffery/Cersei put the hit on Tyrion in the battlefield...

Such a great episode, and the ending left me so pissed off. That icehole Loars showing up, I'm so pissed. I really wanted Stannis to at least take the city, even if it didn't end in the death of some important Lannister. Now it looks like he's been captured? Fucccck. That would leave Robb Stark and the North to take on the entire south by themselves...Hopefully that shadowy figure person can at least free Stannis

Yeah it was a member of the kingsguard.

and they did it justice thankfully.  great episode.  i think those were stannis' men with him, but i'm not sure how they're planning on getting him out of the city alive.

Does that stay true to the book? I'm reading it deviated in certain areas.

Eagles_Legendz

There were only two major deviations: tyrion came up with a chain in the books which trapped the majority of the fleet and had it destroyed by the wildfire.  They said they couldn't do that with the budget so they axed it, but the way they did that was just as good.

All I'll say about the other, to see where it goes and not to spoil much, is Stannis is not as actively involved in the battle in the books as he is in the show, so I'm interested in seeing where the slight deviation goes in that regard.

Eagles_Legendz

oh and they also had a bunch of troops confused because they thought the ghost of renly was attacking since someone was wearing his armor in the books...i think loras was going for that with the crown with the stag horns but it's not really brought to life in the show quite to the same degree.  in the books it created mass confusion with stannis' men who were renly defectors.

regardless, the way they did it on screen was pretty awesome.

Munson

You might be right about it being his own men dragging him away...for some reason I thought they were wearing Lannister red.

I hope he does get out and continues to put pressure on the Lannisters...Robb Stark's gonna need all the help he can get now that it seems the Tyrells have joined the Lannisters.

I'm assuming Tywin knows his chamber girl is a Stark and he was throwing the battle plans around in her presence to throw Robb off. Or maybe I'm over thinking it.

Munson

I don't think she's been able to get any word on any of his plans to Robb up until this point...but he definitely knows she's a girl of noble birth. I don't think he's quite figured out she's a stark yet

tywin and arya don't interact in Harrenhal in the books, so that was a rather large but enjoyable change from the books.

next week has a lot of stuff in it too with all the rest of the storylines.  should be really good and better than the season finale from last year.
