i saw the pilot like 5 years ago or whenever it was on. he was a super psychic and solved crimes. i dont remember any special powers.

they are hideous.  horribly edited and repeated to farging death.

the only ones worse are the ones they just started doing where some announcer guy is "interviewing" the cast of each new show, it's so scripted and corny.

but above all that, the beach boys arbor day commercial is the worst of all time.

I haven't seen it, but:

1) Psychic is an actual comic book power.
2) I don't think the Mentalist is about a psychic. I think he's supposed to have a high degree of observational ability that makes him appear psychic.

After scoring another nightly high (4.3) with adults 18-49 last night, Fox's New Girl became the first new sitcom on any network in 20 seasons to win its first three nights with adults 18-49.  Wayback machine alert: the last time it happened was with ABC's Step by Step in the fall of 1991.
