Bill Simmons is a hack of epic proportions, but even he hasn't written something that awful before. It's so wretched I didn't even know where to post it.

It's an insult to The Wire thread and everyone who likes the show, and that's coming from someone who thought the show was good but ultimately ended up despising everything about it because of the over-the-top adulation heaped on it here and elsewhere.

it's a show about music and culture in New Orleans post Katrina, it's not thought provoking or even clever. But I see you and the lil guy categorizing yourself as the 'we get it' crowd. It's similar to when Iguodala said "people who know basketball know how good my game is".

its an insanely slow character study. there really was no plot in season 1 (havent seen 2 yet). it was just the characters going through their lives. its not for everyone...its often not even for me.
