Spoiler Alert

Finally watched The Wire season finale.  I cant wait till next season.  I love that they're bringing back the greeks.  Definitely pissed when Bodie got capped which might have been the most realistic shooting on TV even down to his fingers curling back after taking the 2 shots to the dome.  Im happy to see Marlo becoming a target now, at first i like the guy but now he's a cold hearted guy on there.  Carver will probably adopt randy next season is my guess.  Overall a great ending and Jimmy Bust Balls is no more, Detective Jimmy

im prone to hyperbole now and then but the wire really is the greatest show ever made and its not even close...makes even the best years of the sopranos look average

have any characters ever been more and better developed thruout a single season than the four kids this year...which is what makes the show so heartbreaking...cause you actually care about the characters and you agonize with them
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

I know exactly what your saying IGY about the kids this year.  I was disappointed this year when they started off on the kids, didnt care about them.  But seeing Duquon on the street selling and droppin out of school because they forced him into HS was just a crazy moment.  Heck just the way Carver was yelling at the hoppers playing where the older kids started off the season was crazy.

The Wire never dissapoints the way sopranos has.  Given sopranos has had 7 or 8 seasons now, there are always a ton of so so episodes where the wire never slips.

yup...which is why its virtually impossible to pick your favorite wire season...cause they are all so amazing but in totally different ways...

its criminal that the wire doesnt get the hype of other hbo shows like the sopranos entourage six feet under and even deadwood get

I really wish they would broadcast next season in HD,  The Wire was the only show this year not in HD.  You really have to love how real the mayoral/governers race was.  Omally=Carcetti was just a great idea.

Most shows are online these days, legally. You of course can torrent any show, but a lot of shows you can watch on the stations websites. So Tivo isn't the make or break, but I'm aware it is better to watch shtein on your couch than in front of the computer.

You don't need any recording device with shows on FX, TBS, TNT or USA because if you miss a show one night they will undoubtedly show it at least 3 more times throughout the week before the next new episode.  Some nights they even show the same episode back to back.

It was David Simons choice not to go in HD. I forgot why he didn't want to it...possibly all the on location shooting they do or something. But HBO offered.

Also, the Golden Globe and Writers Guild nominations came out for this year. The Wire was shutout in booth, which more or less makes both awards shows complete jokes. Now I'm not surprised that a bunch of snotty Europeans couldnt see the brilliance in The Wire, the entire show probably went right over their heads. But the Writers Guild? I'm pretty sure they nominated the show in the past. Their other choices were fine (24, Greys, Sopranos, Deadwood, Lost) but The Wire is another level than all of them.

At this point, I honestly believe that Hollywood has it "in" for David Simon. They for some reason don't like him, don't like the show and want to keep them out of their stupid self congratulating award shows. Fine, farg them. Stupid Hollywood elite. I know Simon is an egocentric corksucker, but the man did create the best show in the history of television (not even a debate at this point, it's a fact). Shouldn't someone realize that?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Alec Baldwin is farging genius on "30 Rock", but I assumed he'd be in the Supporting category.

Any of those guys for lead in a comedy could win, and all would be deserving.
