I caught the first six episodes of Star Trek Discovery. Not the Jjabrams shteinshow I was expecting, but still not quite Star Trek. Closer to the later seasons of DS9 than anything else, in that there's an actual plot instead of it just being a weekly morality tale. Points for focusing more on the military side of things and how civilians are affected by it, and toning down the lens flare. Points off for what they did to the Klingons, not using Majel Barrett's voice for the computer, and casting Rainn Wilson. Not worth paying money for, but nice if you happen to see it.

I also saw the season premier of The Walking Dead. Jesus Christ, what a bad show. I'm actually sorry for anyone watching it.

I've been meaning to watch The Get Down on Netflix for like a year and finally getting around to it. It's corny and it's good and it's stupid and it's got a seriously ill soundtrack.

I hadn't been able to watch any of the current season of TWD up until the last few days, but now I'm all caught up.  Didn't care much for the premier but the next few episodes were good enough.  Then I saw the preview for next week's episode and those stupid garbage people are back in it again.  And apparently Rick is trying to make a deal with them again for some stupid reason. 

I'm still mostly having fun watching the show but it's getting to the point where I just want them to wrap it up and give it some finality.  And I keep hearing about some sort of crossover event between Fear and TWD.  That sounds terrible, not to mention possibly the most unrealistic thing they could do considering that Fear is currently a couple years behind in the timeline.  And also in Mexico.
