Last nights Pacific was not that good imo.  It felt like they just tried to force too much into one episode.  Episode 7 though may have been the best war action ever, it disturbed me which is very difficult to do when it comes to that sort of thing.
They needed to follow Basilone's last days, which added a different component from the previous weeks.  I think its kinda like the Blythe episode of BOB, i'm not a fan of if then, but when watched in succession it ends up being a good episode.

Lost rules.

I know you all care so much.

Oh and they extended the series finale by 30 mins so it'll be 2 hrs 30 mins now.   :yay

Incredible episode

Next weeks episode is the MIB/Jacob flashback. Major mysteries to be solved in this episode include the identities of Adam and Eve, how the Man in Black became the Monster, who built the frozen wheel, and how Jacob became the protector of the island.

If the version of yourself who never watched Lost read that, you'd kick your own ass.

That's true.  I can never "explain" Lost to anyone who hasn't watched the show because it sounds ridiculous when you offer a plot summary.  It's a great show though.

Well what pisses me off about both of those episodes is they are both historically inaccurate.  I actually like the Blythe episode but he did not die like they said, he actually went on to have a very successful military career.  Basilone was killed instantly by a mortar.

I'll try this episode again, like I said I was pretty tired while watching it.

ice grillin you

i was always under the impression that what made bob so good was that it was meticulous with getting every thing historically correct...and that the pacific would mirror that...is that not true or are you saying bob was and the pacific isnt

certain points are inaccurate on both IGY, they followed most historical parts, but they rewrote history for certain characters.

Eh, I liked Lost at first, but stopped caring when the writers and producers got too heavily into all the booze and blow they were buying with the money they were raking in. (Or whatever it was that caused the writing to stop making what little sense it did make.)

The Basilone thing was done on purpose they did if for dramatic affect.  The thing that happened with Blythe was an error, they actually believed he died for some reason.  The following is a response to what did happen.

QuoteNo, he died in 1967 while stationed in Germany. He was still in the Army, and had fought in the Korean War. One of the veterans thought Blithe died in 1948, but when the series aired in the US, his family corrected that mistake.

I don't know why they didn't correct this in the DVD sets.

they also brought back six of the female cast members that have kids to make it sort of a mothers day special.  Probably the first episode worth watching in years....
