im guessing it was more standing up for his boss but there is no way you can say with a straight face that that borderline mediocre show was better than the wire. seriously. go watch the sopranos again. it isnt good.

mad men is better than dexter. if you saw season 3 you would know that.

and i dont think the sopranos is 'not good'....i can even except someone saying at its best its better than the wire...but to say its an overall better show should be punishable by death

no its matt weiner, who wrote for the show.

id go as far to say mad men is better than the sopranos.

the sopranos was great in season 1, then the drop in quality was staggering. a handful of episodes were classics after that, but on the whole, it dragged for 8 years before they got to the last episode. then it produced one of the worst endings in the history of film, tv, books, etc. awful.

its easily the most overrated show of all time.

not quite a soap. dexter was better if you discount season 3. 1 and 2 were better than mad mens 1 and 2. but 3 was so far and away below the standards they set. but, 4, with the return of lundy and addition of john lithgow (im already calling that hes dexter father), it sounds like theyre back on track.

of course, the guy who ran the show in 1 and 2 left it in season 3. that probably is why its not as good. when original showrunners leave their shows, theres generally a drop in quality.

I would barely consider Lost a good show let alone in Dexter's league.

Feel the same way about Dexter.  Never got into it.  I was late aboard the Lost bandwagon but it's my favorite show on TV now and it's not close.
