This is worse than a spin off.  Frazier is a spin off from Cheers.  But what Lucas is talking about doing would be like making a tv show that revolved around a few of the women that Sam Malone shagged.

The new Clone War cartoons should be out in '08. The live action series is slated for '09 or possibly even '10. The story will revolve around a lesser known Jedi that survived Order 66 (that was the original plan). Rumors are the character will be either from the Expanded universe or possibly Shaak Ti. Shaak Ti gets captured and killed in Sith by General Greivous but Lucas cut that out and put it as a deleted scene, so he may have a plan to use her character. He said each episode would be an hour in length and cost roughly $1 million each to produce. Anything Star Wars will draw a huge audience so even if its remotely interesting they'll have a ton of viewers.

So, I did some mild research and found out that the new shows this season aren't doing well in general.  Only the "Grey's Anatomy" spinoff is in the top 10.

That said, I've found a guilty pleasure in "Dirty Sexy Money".  Donald Sutherland and Peter Krause are mailing it in but are still great actors.  There are a few solid pieces of eye candy for us guys, even a tranny for hbionic.

It's really basically a crappy soap opera underneath it all, but I enjoy it... which means it's toast very soon.

Dirty Sexy Money is mindless fun. I generally watch it on demand at 4am over the weekend at some point.
