Oh...and why not? Please tell me.

Because you're old and white.  Think Frank Sinatra wearing a Nehru jacket.  If you know what either of those things are, don't use the word "jawn."

anyone still watching americans? best show on tv imo. thought the finale was a little anticlimactic though. in the trailer at the beginning of the season they showed the daughter walking out of school smiling with fighter jets flying overheard and it looked badass. kept waiting for the scene and it just never happened.

They made at least three different teasers like that for this season. A couple with fighter jets and another with ICBMs. Those were stupid promos.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Netflix canceled Sense 8.

And that's exactly why I don't bother watching television.  If they're going to cancel shows like that and keep the bullshtein they produce otherwise, it's just not worth my time.

for someone who doesnt watch a lot of tv, you seem to watch plenty of tv

ps my friend at work said he got early access to the new season of orange is the new black? is this a thing.

I've only seen the first two episodes of the americans this year.  Love the show just have put it off this season.  Will binge later.  Seems like most people thought it was a down year.

problem with this season wasnt the quality of the show in terms of writing acting overall production...that was all still excellent...where it lacked was in storytelling...in 12 episodes (i think its 12) only one thing of note really ever happened...most everything else was teased to death but nothing of interest ever really came from any of the story lines....even the aftermath of the one big reveal was bleh

also im definitely not one who needs every season to go out with a bang but in a show like the americans where the anticipation for the end is as high as any show i can remember i would have liked a huge going away party in their penultimate season

Quote"After 23 episodes, 16 cities and 13 countries, the story of the Sense8 cluster is coming to an end," said Cindy Holland, Netflix's vp original content.

"It is everything we and the fans dreamed it would be: bold, emotional, stunning, kickass and outright unforgettable," she continued. "Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world. We thank Lana, Lilly, Joe and Grant for their vision and the entire cast and crew for their craftsmanship and commitment."

It was so good we canceled it after two years!

They canceled it because it championed LGBT issues unflinchingly.   They just didn't need the headache.

are you serious with this? netflix is not a repub place. not to mention it doesnt rely on ads, just subs, and exactly 0 people canceled their sub because of the existence of this show.

it was canceled because not enough people were watching it and it was extraordinarily expensive to produce.

Viewership literally means nothing.  It's a subscription service.  It was expensive to produce at $9M/episode but that's not a whole lot more than other high profile series.  I mean how much does an episode of Westworld or GOT's cost to produce?

MDS

i have no idea, but hbo and netflix dont produce the same amount of shows. netflix is trying to build up enough content where they wont have to pay XXX studio for that show that was on nbc in 2013 in order to have a full library. so for them, more is better.

viewership does matter. netflix isnt going to spend 9 mil an episode -- if thats indeed the right number -- on something nobody is watching. theres a reason they continue to pay adam sandler a ton to make movies....people for some ungodly reason watch it. sorry a show you like got axed. it happens to the best of us.
