Yes, I know.  She probably doesn't have a shot to win because it's a Canadian show on BBCA and no one gives a shtein about it otherwise.   She's unbelievable in the role(s), though.  I'm not crazy about the show (my daughter is) but her ability to portray several vastly different characters at once is really impressive.

I read the book two months ago and was surprised how much I liked it.   I watched the first episode and thought it was meh though.

slow starting while trying to give a backdrop to the story but it certainly picks up. im a sci-fi nerd so anything that goes along this type of plot automatically peaks my interest.

went back and looked at what kind of emmy success deadwood had and saw that the jane actress was nominated for best in a drama series one year which is cool but lost to farging blythe danner in some show I have never heard of

she is just insane in deadwood

I'm 3 episodes in on Deadwood, I agree with the dialogue being top notch. Jane and Swearinger are good characters. Does it get better though? It's not drawing me in the way I thought it would.

no...its pretty much exactly the same from ep 1 to the s2 ep 10 that im on now...ok storylines great writing...its actually a really funny show...the out of nowhere zingers are hilarious if you can catch them...they get spoken in such a deadpan way that they are easy to miss...

but I have zero connection or care as to what happens to any of the characters or where any of the plotlines go

I don't remember what the name of the new show is but it had Anthony Hopkins in it and it was shown as a preview before TNO. What a confusing clusterfarg and it looks awful.

Preacher is completely insane.  Holy shtein last night's episode was creepy, scary, hilarious and really sad.  The kid from the original Bad News Bears who played Kelly is one of the actors and he's just excellent playing a dude who is super pissed at God.

also, the mr robot premiere was good. nice to see christian slater is still dancing around in Elliot's head.
