Probably the best dialogue of any show ever. The overall writing isn't quite as strong as the Wire, but the dialogue -- even just the style of it -- is mind blowing.

watched the first five episodes last night...I preface this with saying im not a western guy at all which is why it took me this long to check it out in the first place but thus far I find it to be pretty boring...the storylines do nothing for me...but the dialogue is indeed very good....the actress who plays jane is amazing...easily the best in the show so far

I think Milch wrote every episode pretty much as they were filming.... he had a great sense of the characters and how they would act and speak in his world but didn't give much advance thought to what they would be doing.

I believe there is a 2nd season.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

none of the plotlines are bad or unwatchable by any means...I just don't care where any of them go...it hasn't caused me to become invested at all yet

Susquehanna Birder

She has that ability to look pretty good (hotsy totsy) or pretty horrible (hotsy notsy), depending on the makeup. And she's been in a number of shows since, including SoA and Jessica Jones.

smeags

shes a great actress. able to engulf herself in the part.

btw - it took me a lil bit to figure out who she was in Jessica jones. I knew I saw her in other shows but couldn't figure it out until I looked her up.

Forgot Suits started a new season tonight. Sheeit. Guess I should binge Mr. Robot so I can watch both of them on Wednedays.

Too invested in Tyrant now though to skip it for Mr. Robot live though, which I'm sure is a better show considering the buzz.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

cuba gooding jr getting a nom over oscar isaac is criminal....in fact david simon got shutout yet again despite getting paid to make something that was specifically designed to win awards.

also bojack horseman getting nothing is just blasphemous

otherwise whatever
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Eagles_Legendz

agreed that oscar isaac should've been nominated.

Haven't seen the leftovers yet to judge...sort of surprised Christian Slater didn't grab a supporting actor nomination.  He's the type of actor they tend to jump towards and he was actually pretty good.

I also enjoy how the Emmys are about a year behind the curve. /insert GoT talk/ I like Maisie Williams, and Kit Harrington was the best part of GoT a year ago, but neither did much this year to warrant a nomination IMO (Sophie turner >>> Maisie on GoT this season). /end GoT talk/

Happy to see The Americans get some attention

The only actor on GoT who came close to earning the nomination was Lena Headey.

They are still throwing automatic nominations at the Simpsons and South Park. They started liking Archer two years after it stopped being good. "Escape from L.A." was maybe the most memorable half hour of TV I saw in the last year. So yeah no chance that gets nominated.

Rome

Tatiana Maslany getting recognized for Orphan Black was awesome too.

She won't win but she should.  Playing a half dozen characters and being in almost every scene is insane.

SD

Loved the burning money scene on Mr Robot. Nice opening episode to set up the season
