Planet Earth - 11 part series on Discovery started last night with 3 episodes. Pretty awesome how they filmed part of it. Some animals they showed were never captured on film before. Bad ass  :yay

Caught some of it in HD, pretty cool stuff. My g/f really liked it.

rome, as always, was great.

mds or one of you other tv geeks....what does hbo have planned once the sopranos runs it's course?  is deadwood finished too?
no rome, no deadwood, no sopranos, no reason to pay for hbo.

having hbo and not getting into the wire is retarted. rent the dvds, download, whatever. how many times bla bla bla its good.

this summer, they have big love at 8, the new series john from cincinatti and 9, entourage at 10 and some new comedy at 1030.

they have some other stuff in production, plus the last season of the wire and next season of curb your enthusiasm (which will probably be the last) due in 2008.

no word on the buzz around the new series, john from cincinatti is from david milch, the guy who did deadwood, so its probably gonna be pretty good. the only castmembers i know off the top of my head are luke perry and ed o'neill aka al bundy. its also getting premiered after the sopranos finale.

plus the 2 deadwood movies are supposed to happen, but who knows when.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

They cut last season short so they could continue into April, so when it starts it will still be considered season 3.

MDS

Technically, the last 8 episodes are from season 3 and the following 12 will be season 4, but hbo will call it a long season 4.

Rome

I watched the Battlestar Galactica finale last night and nearly shtein a brick.

* Spoilers *

Not only is Starbuck alive but four of the main characters are actually Cylons and Baltar was set free.

The ending was so farging cool, I could hardly believe my eyes.  Then they pulled a "to be continued in 2008" on me.

bastiches.

:boom :-D

I'm telling you, see the re-runs or buy the DVD's when they come out.  It's seriously one of the best shows on television.

I stand corrected by Mike Teevee

MDS

They always intended to have this be an Entourage mini-season to go with the last batch of Sopranos, as a way to introduce the largest possible audience to the show. It averages around 2 million viewers +, which is decent for a HBO show. Most of those viewers are "young" and "hip" which I guess helps. The Sopranos gets around 8 or 9 million, which is the best cable (pay and basic) does outside of the NFL games on ESPN, and perhaps a playoff NBA game.

Must watch here. Pilot called Three Strikes, it's about a bunch of minor leaguers who were kicked out of the majors for various offenses (steroids, fighting, drugs, etc.) and are now playing in the minors in Fresno. The plot revolves around the guys scheduling a Sex Boat with blind kinds, complete with tranny hookers, drugs and guns. It's written by two Fraiser writers and produced by Jon Stewert. I believe Walt from Lost is one of the blind kids.

Anyway, this is really farging funny. It's seriously messed up and stuff, but it's great shtein.

Part One Part 2 and 3 are linked on the page. It's around 30 mins total.
