For those of you that know me personally, I may be a little squirrely, but am not the type to run around wearing a tinfoil hat & a crystal necklace, but I had something weird happen to me recently that I wanted post.

During the afternoon of 5/20, I took my 2 daughters down to Fort Mifflin, a fortress utilized during both the Revolutionary & Civil Wars, located right outside of the Philadelphia International Airport. Supposedly, this fort was instrumental in holding back the British fleet long enough for Washington to gather his troops in Valley Forge, thereby impacting the outcome of the Revolutionary War. You can check their website for more info (http://www.fortmifflin.com/pn/index.php).  In addition to it's historical value, the fort is also know as one of the most haunted places in the Philadelphia area.

After stumbling around the compound, I had asked a guide about the rumors of various sections being haunted. The guide directed me to "Casemate 5", which is rumored to have the most activity due to it being the cell used to house a murderer who was hanged at the fort during the Civil War. We walked through a short series of low, dark tunnels to arrive at a hallway with 3-4 dark, arched rooms on our left.  The last room on the left was Casemate 5.

Knowing the reputation of this room, I had my camera ready & immediately upon entering, took a picture of the room.  The only odd thing that happened, was that immediately after I took the first picture, my camera froze up & the batteries that I just put in the weekend before (and took only about 15 pics with) died.  I thought it was odd but not anything indictive of  being paranormal. I replaced the batteries, took a few more pictures in the cell, then carried on with our tour.

We toured the rest of the fort and really came away not thinking anything exceptionally weird occurred. While we had fun & a got little creeped out in the beginning, I honestly felt let down by the experience. That is until I came home & uploaded my pics & noticed something strange in the very first picture I took of Casemate 5.

If you click on the link below, you will notice a slightly yellow-greenish, transparent orb hovering above the last bunk. You may want to use an application other than your browser to zoom in for detail. I used Photoshop to auto-adjust the color levels, which will represent a truer picture of the colors in the room & bring out the detail more.

I'm very aware of the photographic anomalies caused by dust, rain & snow, and this picture doesn't seem to contain the characteristics of an error of that type. I have personally taken over 1500 pictures with this camera & have never, ever, seen this effect before.
