NGM

Thats not really even a ranking of best offseasons.  Its more like his preseason power ranking.

thats pretty funny they can put the chargers 5th with an unknown QB in Rivers--ahead of NE and Jacksonville. They instantly take a step back not forward, plus an aging McCardell..cmon.

Miami should be there. I think they take big strides with Culpepper this year

im not saying i agree with him but its not whos a better team its who had the better offseason....and he did say this...

but Philip Rivers will be the key to success. If he falters, the Chargers will struggle to make the playoffs.

am I the only one that thinks that the Raiders will be a much improved team with Aaron Brooks. I think he brings much more to the table than Collins. The only reason I think he did so poorly in NO was the OL was shredded, no RB and No Joe Horn for the heavy bulk of the season.

How can a QB flourish under those circumstances--you'll get predictable and picked apart by opposing dfenses--and thats exactly what happened. I think he revives his career with those receivers and a rising Lamont Jordan. Anyone else?

i think the change of scenery could really help brooks...but im the only one...everyone else despises him...i wanted him as the eagle back up

He may suck, but he's got an arm.

The man. The myth. The legend.

and your reason for that is?

well he was pretty bad in new orleans..cant argue that...i just think he still has some upside and in the right situation with the proper guidance i think he could do ok...iin NO he had zero support from an incompetant coaching staff...i think he could hve been perfect as the eagle back-up...id definitely rather have him than garcia right now

ive seen him throw away games in the 4th qrt probably at least a dozen times. his lifetime sub 80.0 qb rating. despite having a decent supporting cast. maybe it's the 60 or so career fumbles....

Hmmmm...tough call.  I can see that in some ways, but Brooks always comes up smallest in the greatest times of need, and that's a bad quality to have in a backup, for sure.

Hes no Montana but does Culpepper suck because he fumbles...cmon Wing. The guy has a canon and throws TD's--like 113 TD in 5 years (2001-2005), compared to your boy Donny Mac who has 105. Now if you compare INT's--McNabb is better for sure. My point is, with the new coordinator, better receivers, very good RB he still gives them a better chance to win than the boring Collins.

from my memory...collins has a much better playoff record than brooks.

look beyond the stats...brooks is one of the biggest choking QBs in the NFL...he's led the saints to 2 above .500 seasons in his career.

your right I was, and I understand where your coming from a stat point--but you see it so much in sports--changing environments, different players, increased performance, better stats--contract. I just think with the best receiver in the game, the supporting cast he has and the offensive staff--he makes strides...thats all. well see
