I don't think you can make that strong a statement, IGY.  And that's why you annoy people here.
Just as likely, Tra could throw out his back, and Justice could be good on the left.  Jean-Gilles could also impress, and beat out Herremans/Clarke at guard.
While I agree, based on Reid's previous history, neither Justice nor Jean-Gilles will see much time sans injury, to say it would be wholly bad if they did is too negative.
Anyone but Reid.

ice grillin you

yeah and if tra throws his back out and justice is thrown to the wolves then 'things didnt go well'...justice is not ready to protect the blindside of an nfl qb yet...in fact if thomas goes down herremans goes out there not justice

the bottom line is these two guys nor no one in this draft class...with the possible exception of bloom...will have a win/loss effect on this team...so to say that mjg and winston justice will have the eagles back in the playoffs this year is just plain not knowing what youre talking about

Whether they are named a starter now is yet to be determined. Whos to say one of them wont start? and who are you to say somebody is not ready to protect a QB's blind side? Werent you the one today saying how easy it is to play OT? Hmmmm

mjg and justice arent going to play much and if they do then things didnt go very well for the eagles

I have to agree with you based on AR's past actions with rookies - excluding Westy and Reggie Brown.  It was just refreshing to see a complimentary commentary on the birds after reading that icehole Dr. Z the pinhead's reaction.

negative dook...still need brushing up on those reading comp skills...i said it doesnt take a rocket scientist to play the position...never said it was easy...in fact its quite difficult...which is why getting good tackles is at a premium and why even the very best tackles dont come in their rookie years and become difference makers much less a second round pick

yeah as far as the draft itself i think it was very good...dr z is an idiot for criticizing it...but its also not a draft that is going to get the eagles into the playoffs this year

I'm not being argumentative but I wonder what kind of draft someone has to have to go from not being in the playoffs to getting in.  Is it more about where the Eagles were at the end of the season or specifically who they picked?

The draft day additions of offensive linemen Winston Justice from USC and Max Jean-Gilley from Georgia should give McNabb the protection that he needs to stay healthy enough to get the Eagles back to the playoffs in 2006.

god i cant stand idiot talking heads like this....this draft is not going to be the difference between the eagles winning and losing this year

mjg and justice arent going to play much and if they do then things didnt go very well for the eagles

You can't say that yet. If they win the job it could be they very much impressed, and that is a good thing, not a bad thing.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

how hard is it to grasp the offensive tackle position...come on now

This is you today bud...when you say grasp, you mean overall from what Im reading. And go ahead and check that OT tackle position again IGY, you might find Robert Gallery in there...he didnt make a difference on that line huh?

You talk a mean game, and I agree with alot of your remarks, but really think before you make such outlandish comments

ice grillin you

you cite robert gallery as your example...he was a huge disappointment his rookie year and hasnt been all that special in general...in fact he was such a force his rookie year the raiders improved from 4-12 to 5-11 with him

The guy started as a rookie and played all the games, not to mention he helped an offensive line that surrendered the fifth-fewest sacks (30) in the NFL that year. Stop backpeddling your point IGY. You said rookie lineman dont come in and make a difference--which means solid production for a QB (throwing for over 4000 yds) and a RB. Difference maker for a rookie? I think so

and when have you ever heard the quote..."Damien Woody took NE to the Superbowl this year or John Runyan propelled the Eagles to 4 NFC championship games?" Thats not their job guy

ice grillin you

You said rookie lineman dont come in and make a difference

yeah they generally dont...even the truly great ones usually dont much less a winston justice...so really what is your point?

if you think winston justice and/or jean-gillies is the difference btwn the eagles making or not making the playoffs then more power to you...but youre wrong

you see...now its "generally". IGY, the only reason why I call you out is because your so bold in your direct statements.

and if they did start for whatever reason, you can bet if the Eagles make the playoffs, there will be plenty of talk on this board and the media of how "Justice has made a big difference on that side of the line this year...."

ice grillin you

you see...now its "generally".

sorry i dont have on call knowledge of every tackle that has ever come into the league going back to the 1930's...so perhaps there was one or two that came in an were instant probowlers...but basically it just doesnt happen

the point was and is that if justice and/or jean gillies play this year they will not be a difference maker...much less get the team into the playoffs...the eagles would be lucky for either of them to be solid and show some potential that will lead to possible greatness a couple years down the road

any more ?'s
