It was all over the place.  TO promoted that pretty heavily, actually ;)...but others backed it up.

I also think the 40 times are highly overrated.  Especially when the Eagles pick a receiver with a crappy one.

Sounds like Drew Rosenhaus crap.

It was either 4.3 or 4.4 when he did that little show in Atlanta running track and telling Philly that he wanted to get paid...

Right.  4.33 sticks in my mind.

From Avante talking about catching 200 balls from the machine every day he atleast sounds like he has the desire to become a good player.

I think that's about 197 more than Freddie ever caught in every practice combined he's attended.

I think Avant was a good value pick on the second day. He was a productive college player, the Eagles value that. So do teams like the Pats. THey rank production up there with measurable talent.

I dunno, I'd definitely put TO in the speed demon category. He outruns everyone on the field. You don't take a 5 yard hitch and turn it into a 90 yard TD if you don't have any giddy-up.

Avant snags #81, apparently not afraid of the inevitable jokes that will come his way. Good for him.

The Eagles knew they faced a challenge in signing every draft pick in time for training camp, but they came one step closer on Thursday.

Jason Avant, one of the Eagles' two fourth-round picks, signed a four-year contract on Thursday. Avant is the final second-day selection to sign with the Eagles and the sixth of eight draft picks. Only the top two picks, first-rounder Brodrick Bunkley and second-rounder Winston Justice, remain unsigned.

Avant was one of the most productive college receivers in football last season, recording 82 catches for 1,007 yards and eight touchdowns at powerhouse Michigan. He finished his career third on the Wolverines' all-time receiving list in receptions behind Cleveland Browns 2005 first-round pick Braylon Edwards and Marquise Walker.

Avant is in a crowded mix of receivers for the Eagles, but his experience and NFL-ready size makes him an intriguing option.

Training camp opens for rookies and selected veterans on Thursday, July 20.
