Stuff brought up on WIP this morning:

One of our employees [marketing manager Debbie Nocito] saw the whole thing. She said, "He did not hit her at all, and he didn't grab her hair or anything." So all the reports were untrue, from what I understand.

So the marketing manager, someone that tells you only what you want to hear and spins everything positively, tells him that nothing happened even though every other account of the story, including HERS, says otherwise?  And if nothing serious happened, why is Myers getting counseling and taking a break right now?

I know the owners think Dave Montgomery is sensational.

Because of the sustained success over the last decade, right?

two of them say in every meeting, "Gosh darn it, I want to win a World Series."

Golly gee, that's swell!

They also pointed out that it's not the owners' fault....not Montgomery's fault....not Pat's fault....maybe it's the players....AH....it's those evil fans calling WIP and talking to those evil radio people that's causing the Phillies to suck!

Here is the deal. Wolf threw 3 innings 2 hits 1 ER. Didn\'t look real sharp, just trying to range in the breaking ball. I was sitting next to the pen and watching him warm up. Excellent movement on the fastball. The thing that surprised me was he popped one fastball during the game at 96. I do not think he ever did that in the past.

Gordon pitched the 8th, gave up 1 hit and held the 2-1 lead

From what I've heard (never seen it documented, but referenced by baseball announcers, so take it for what it's worth), gaining anywhere from 2 to 3 mph on the fastball is not uncommon for those who get Tommy John surgery.

Phillies try to 'revise' Giles' statement about Myers "helping" his wife.

This Phillies ownership group is dispicable.

Monty tries to say Giles misunderstood him because he didn't go into great detail during a 10-minute conversation that included how the team was playing. Its not like telling him the team sucks took 10 minutes. That takes two seconds.

Randy Miller was on WIP this morning and has sources telling him part of Giles story is actually true and the Phillies didn't want it to get out.  He also says he's talked to scouts and no team wants any part of Myers right now...
