Dellucci blows, he strikes out 1/3 of his plate appearances.

hes essentially a pinch hitter whos hit like .340 his last 20 games

hes a good guy off the bench...for anyone to call him out is to be reaching big time

In the last 20 games (since May 14), Delucci is hitting .286 (8-for-28) with 2 HR and 5 RBI.  Three of those hits came in one game (May 31).  Take away the four games he started in those 20, and Delucci is hitting .200 (3-for-15) as a pinch-hitter in that time (I did not check for his entering the game for "defensive purposes" and am assuming that any of his 1 AB games are as a pinch-hitter.

For the season, Delucci is hitting 8-for-32 (.250) with an OPS of .798.

He has not been that good this year.

He's better than anyone else they got. Nunez, Coste? Victorino is decent, but too much of a hacker at points. Dellucci tends to have good at bats, though most of the time it winds up being a strikeout.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

IGY,

I considered coming down for Hamels' start on Sunday. But I have some shtein that I have to do around the house since this is my long weekend off.

But I am still pissed about not getting to see the game on Saturday. That's a crock of shtein. Looks like I will be out in the backyard sitting in a lounge chair drinking beer and listening to Harry on 1210.

I think they will win the next 3 though. And even if they split this series they will have gone 7-4 on the trip. Not too shabby.

Myers goes tonight.

Delucci has been the best of a bad lot.  A monumentally bad lot.

Since you asked (the following is all as a PH):

Victorino:  3-for-13 (.231), 0 HR, 0 RBI, .564 OPS (most of the Happy Hawaiian's good stats have come as a starter or defensive replacement)
Nunez:  3-for-26 (.115  :o), 0 HR, 1 RBI, .264 OPS
Gonzalez/Roberson/Conde:  UGH.  2-for-17 (.118), 0 HR, 0 RBI, .235 OPS  :puke

I was really hopeful, based on past performance, that this year's bench would be decent.  Unfortunately, it has been one of the worst in MLB.

it may actually be more beneficial to send the actual bench up to bat.

The bench can run faster than Sal Fasano, that's for sure.
