Johnny Marzano's page

Some guy on PhilliesPhans sponsored it and he's not a big Johnny Marz fan because of the crazy things he says on PGL and all of the name dropping and WIP menatlity he now has. :-D

awsome, just awsome. sucks for madson, he wasnt THAT bad. but come on, hamels has to be called up. no way eddy wade woulda made a move like that, in fact, hamels would still be in clearwater.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

sucks for madson, he wasnt THAT bad

madson was as bad as you can get...has twenty more hits than innings pitched...a seven era and most pathetic more walks than strikeouts...pretty amazing that he was 3-1
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Wingspan

he was 3-1 due to run support and pitching vs pansie teams that shot themselves in the foot worse than the phils did in april

Madson got his shot and it didn't work out for him.

Too bad.  He's better off in middle relief anyway.  You can get away with throwing junk like he does for an inning but give a major league team two looks at you and on the third go-around, you're gonna get hammered, especially if you can't spot your fastball properly.  And that's exactly what happened to Madson.

i wouldnt call six starts getting his shot...but theres no question hes the one that should be taken out of the rotation

If the Phillies were 10 games under .500 right now, Hamels would still be in Scranton and Madson would still be in the starting rotation.

He got his shot in that they could no longer justify keeping him in the rotation considering the position they find themselves in at the moment.

Bringing up Hamels now and putting Madson in the bullpen is as clear a sign as you'll ever see from the Phillies that they're going for broke this year.  All I can say is, it's about farging time.

I can't wait to see what's next.

stats, schmats. he kept them in every game that he pitched, save for the one against dc. no, he wasnt good. at all. but he wasnt atroscious. im not mad that cole got the call, just kinda feel bad the madson only got one month to proove himself as a starter. but, such is life. he should effective out of the pen, and hes had enough success in the majors to not have his confidence rattled because of this.

I was thinking about this.  If Hamels comes up a pitches at least competently in the 5 spot and Myers keeps pitching like he is, do the Phillies try to go out and get starting pitching around the trade deadline?

If Hamels works out, I don't think they have to worry about starting pitching.  I'm more worried about middle relief, although hopefully Madson finds his magic again in that role.  Is there any chance Wolf comes back this year with good stuff or just chalk it up to a rehab season?

NGM

Wolf might be able to come back around August was the last timetable I saw.  I wonder how he would feel about pitching out of the pen.

Gillick is on DNL talking about Hamels right now.

bold statement--the Phillies always have to worry about starting pitching. Dont let a winning streak fool ya bro. If they can do it by trade deadline, I say make it happen.

As for tonight's game, I really feel that Lidle needs to put one in Reye's ear to start the game. Pedro hit two guys, Heilman got close to Abreu. We can't accept thast shtein! Someone's gotta have the balls to protect our hitters.
