I can't believe how well Floyd & Madson looked in Florida and how awful they've been in the regular season.

Definitely a head-scratcher.

Actually, it's a full-on miracle that the Phillies are 9-11 after 20 games.  With the starting pitching they've gotten, they have no right to have nine wins at this point.

PoopyfaceMcGee

I think they should use this outing to trade Hamels for Don Majkowski.

To be honest the starting pitching thus far has exceeded my expectations. At least we're getting a quality start every now and again. Whats going to ultimately kill the Phils will be the bullpen, because our starters are rarely effective after the 5th inning.

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

I'd rather stick with Floyd to be honest with you, at least he has potential. With Franklin what you see is what you get.

We know that Floyd is totally overmatched at this point.  Franklin is at least a serviceable major league pitcher and an innings-eater.

If the hitting starts to come the way is has lately, a pitcher with a 4.50 ERA could win a lot of games for the Phillies.  Floyd simply isn't ready yet.  I don't know if he'll ever be ready but this season shouldn't be flushed down the toilet in order to give him a chance to find out.

Franklin can eat all the innings he wants in long relief. Floyd is overmatched but when he's found his niche he's been effective. We're not winning the WS this season, so I stick with the young guy.

The season is only 20 games old and you're already giving up?

Wow...  why bother watching them at all then?  I just don't get that.   :P

Given a 3-1 lead, Lieber blows it (again).

3-3 headed to the 8th.  In comes Franklin.

Single....HR....

:boom

SunMo

they should trade Lieber for Oswalt

and thus concludes a stellar 4-5 homestand. world series bound.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Good job today. >:(

Hey, at least Cole Hamels pitched excellent. Just keep him away from the bars in Scranton.

MDS

if he continues to dominate there, you cannot not call him up, PAT GILLICK
