yeah it REALLY is...omg its 9-11 and we were all told it was the greatest tragedy in the history of the world so i must give money to the survivors fund....but not the fund of a random plane crash victims family

pretty much....there are literally probably a million more worthy causes than als...its a fatal disease that isnt contagious and effects a miniscule % of the worlds population

i'm not the least bit butthurt.  i actually feel bad for people who are so cynical that they can't even appreciate what a cool thing this is.  does it play into people's narcissism with social media?  yep, but finding a way to do that has, again, raised millions of dollars for a deadly disease.

but it's facebook and it's young people and it's something silly so douchebag internet cool guys think it's stupid.  oh and it's a disease not worth charity lol...that's the best one.

the point here is that als is a waste of time and money...even if this money directly resulted in a cure it would mean nothing...and thats if it ever results in a cure which is unlikely....we are still working on that cancer thing after a few billion years....sometimes you just gotta chalk it up to population control....which btw overpopulation is one of those millions issues way bigger than als

herpes simplex will never be cured....it would cost big pharma way too much money just to eliminate a simple reocurring virus....same with other things like acne or rosecea
