I am officially too old to try lifting with just my back. Hooray.

On Monday, the day before I put my dog down, the doctors told me my right knee requires surgery to repair a torn medial meniscus.  It's been a great week.

They also want to fuse a couple of my vertebrae together.

I think I'll pass on both.

I would say yes on knee, as it will get better, and avoid back surgery at all costs.

Yup.  Meniscus surgery should be relatively quick and easy.  Pretty minimal pain and rehab afterwards.  The thing to be weary of with a torn meniscus is that it could possibly lodge itself between your upper and lower knee joints and be like a wedge between the 2.  This would basically prevent you from being able to fully extend your leg at the knee and/or bend it back.

I'm guessing you're hesitant to do either because (a) surgery sucks and (b) it's prime work season for you.  I guess if you can go about your business through the summer without any major pain, then go for it.  But once works slows down in the fall, get your knee looked at again and if surgery is still needed, then do it.

This would be 100000000000000x more awesome if it weren't on the back of a farging mini-van.

Still better than a stick family though.

That is farging incredible. I'd do it to my suv if I knew how to.
