MDS is offering an alternative process to due process.

im offering an alternative to lethal injection and years of hold ups on death row

for people you know are guilty and who did heinous things why not just shoot them and burn them up. what difference does it make. the cleveland dude can get the hammer. the chick in phoenix can rot in prison. not everyone deserves it. but some do.

Public executions foster a sense of community, which is something we could all use.

The man. The myth. The legend.

The guillotine was quite humane for its day.

The death penalty is an abomination.

Quote from: shorebird on May 10, 2013, 07:36:32 AMI'm interested, after seeing the facts of these women's captivity, if found guilty would you be for or against the death penalty for the accused?

The facts are irrelevant.  A democratic state cannot undertake government-sponsored execution and still be a democracy.  There is literally no circumstance under which I would advocate or support the state executing criminals.

Now, if you as an individual want to take it upon yourself to off a bad man, hey...that's between you and the law.  If the guy really was bad, I might not convict you if I was on the jury, and if I wasn't, I might send you a pack of cigarettes or something, but the law is the law and the law is what makes us civilized.  And by civilized in America, in this case, I mean, on a par with Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, and Texas.

Yhay America.

Don't get me wrong here.  I'd personally slice him to ribbons with a farging chainsaw.  But there's a difference between the act of satisfying personal vengeance and state-sponsored murder.    Or do I need to remind you of the six million people who died because the "state" deemed them worthy of incineration?

ice grillin you

because of the possibility of death the jody arias trial took four months instead of four days and cost more than it will cost to house sandusky until he dies

Unfair comparison:  Sandusky is seventy-hundred and can't survive without fresh boy-blood.

its not unfair when the little guy used sandusky as a cost reason for the death penalty

but if you wanna use a random prisoner of a younger age that trial still cost more

Yep.  Take the vengeance penalty off the table and that bitch is over in a week.   The cost of cooking someone alone should be an overwhelming factor against it on both sides.  The neocons should hate it because of the money that's wasted and the liberals should hate it because of the possibility that an innocent person might be put to death by accident.

Eliminating the death penalty is such a staggering win for the judicial system in this county, it really can't be overstated enough.

Shouldn't conservatives hate it more for this same reason?  That is, aren't they the ones who are always on about individual rights and liberties vs. the collective need/the State?  From my point of view, conservatives ought to hate the idea that the evil government has the power to kill a citizen.
