On one hand, I say good.  I hate walking down the street and some dickbag coming the other way is too busy with his face buried in his phone that he isn't paying attention to where he's going.  I'm about to the point where I'm just going to start lowering my shoulder into them a little bit as we pass. 

But on the other hand, if the law ended up being even remotely effective, I'd miss watching people walk into street signs, light posts and traffic.

A Memphis TV station is telling the story of a hideous real-estate mix-up. Terry Jordan of Tate County, Miss., thought she was doing everything right to help her family out of a financial pinch when she bought a foreclosure property and poured money into it. She and her unemployed husband planned to sell it for a profit.

She has since learned, however, that the home she bought -- or thought she'd bought -- and renovated doesn't really belong to her. The real-estate agent actually sold her a different home, one on the lot next door, which Jordan had not visited.

I don't know how they could go thru the entire underwriting process/lien checks/etc.  Unless they put down cash and chose to not do any background checks on it.  It's as much as the purchaser as it is everyone else involved.
