It had a nice view, but some really tall hermit lived there. Kept calling me "Infidel!" so that kind of turned me off. Also, WHAT KIND OF BED AND BREAKFAST DOESN'T SERVE BACON?!

Mostly for MMH:

Can you shed some light on this? Why the massive payouts to these parents if there is no link?

Huge companies settle lawsuits every day, PG.   Just because they settle doesn't mean they're culpable.  It just means they're better off not engaging in litigation.

It goes deeper than that Romey. Not to mention, I'm really interested in hearing what the other information they have to release is.

The ability to buy your way out of a lawsuit is a problem.  It's one thing that rich individuals can do it, but another thing entirely that corporations--which are contracts, not people--can do it.

Corporations are people, too, Dio. People with no accountability who don't get called for jury duty, but still people.

PG delving into the Fox News world to extend the life of the vaccine/autism fantasy. Strange times.

PG - anyone that says there is "indisputable evidence linking vaccines and autism" is completely full of shtein.
It is nearly impossible to prove a cause and effect link using retrospective data.  It's especially difficult when the disease is of unknown cause and origin.  Hell, there's still debate about what constitutes autism.

Consider Erin Brokovich (the real one, not the movie).  Look how difficult is was to link increased cancer rates with hexavalent chromium, a known carcinogen.  Causal links are difficult to prove, even when the insult is known to cause problems.  Lots of people get cancer anyway, and separating random events from those caused by a specific insult is very difficult.

And in this article, Dio, it's not the companies settling, it's the Fed.  I'm sure this will piss you off more, but you aren't allowed to sue vaccine companies.  They are considered too important to national security to be allowed to be sued into oblivion.

So what are your thoughts on those kids who go from absolutely fine and in a span of 24 hours from time of vaccine, change completely. Too many to be coincidental. I know (now) 6 parents of kids like this.
