so it's a gorgeous day out and i've got the front door open.  a baby bird fell out of his nest and made his way in my house.  he's pretty close to flying so my squaw is going to get in touch with her inner animal whisperer and nurse him for the next week or so until he can fly on his own.

i'm at travis afb this week to renew some of my certifications.  local per diem rate for meals is $51/day (here for 6 days total).  my hotel room has a kitchenette so i stopped by the commissary today and picked up enough chow to last me the entire week and i spent about $30.  so yeah, there's about $220 going in my pocket.  not to mention that since i drove up here, i get paid per mile which will come out to another $350.  and as if that wasn't enough, i'm only "working" about 4 hrs a day and i'm only about 50 miles from san fran and/or sacramento.   thinking i might go pay the governator a visit.

watched this on Maryland Public TV last night, Chesapeake Bay by Air, they just flew a plane around the chesapeake from Conowingo to Virgina.  I must have been farged up because it was amazing

the Chesapeake is an amazing thing, totally unique in the world, really a treasure of the world.  We're doing a nice job turning it into a toilet.

I have more awesome opinions on this subject, but I need to go spray fertilizer on my lawn.
