I've got USAA also..they've been great to me. I only pay $1800 a year and I have a pretty messy driving record.

Their CC dept is great too..Right when I started college, I got a card and went shteincrazy with it. Obviously, I got myself into some trouble and called USAA up, explained the situation and they gave me a 0% rate for a year so I could pay it off. Without that, I'd probably still be in debt.

Yep, they're the best of the best as far as CCs go, IMO.

you people must be horrible drivers.  i pay $43 a month for full coverage including comprehensive.  granted i drive maybe twice a month but that has nothing to do with the price.  although i think PA is one of the most expensive states in the country.

if you were to be honest (which most are not for good reason) and tell them how many miles you drive to work every day, city or suburban the price increases

it does affect your rates.  hard to say how much, but it usually does lower them.  every time i move i switch to a local state farm office for my car insurance.  and every time, they ask me if i'm a daily driver, how far i commute to work each day, how many miles/yr i put on my car.  when i lived in kc, i lived less than 3 miles from work and my insurance was dirt cheap.  when i moved to nc, i lived about 20 miles from work and my rates increased.  and when i first moved out to cali, i was driving 35 miles each way and my rates went up even more.

also, on my mustang, i switched to a policy for <7500 miles/year since i don't use it for commuting purposes and my rates for that car dropped about $400 for the year.

My rate has gone from 80 - 100 a month depending on where I live in PA since I got the truck in 05. I use State Farm, best quote I got at the time of purchase.

I have heard nothing but horror stories about filing claims with Geico. i've never dealt with them personally. I have state farm. It's not the best Auto rate... but the homeowners discount is worth it.

Moving away from that hell hole known as Massachusetts saved me $150 PER MONTH in car insurance. Of course, anyone who has ever driven up there completely understands why insurance is so high. There is no rhyme or reason whatsoever to the decisions I see drivers make on the roads of Boston.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
