That is an important difference, biscuit, but let's be honest. Whether it comes from Bush or Obama it's all just cowtowing to exactly what the terrorists want. They have absolutely zero capacity to invade this country. They have absoutely zero capacity to cripple this country in any meaningful way. They can attack in isolated incidents, doing marginal damage (at most, assuming that the attack even works). The impact that all of this has is to scare our population and embolden our leaders to attack in places around the world that we would normally not give a flying farg about, further feeding into the cycle of hatred that foreigners feel towards our country.

Heightened vigilance in private coupled with confidence and indifference in public (eliminating fear rhetoric) would go a long way towards reducing the effectiveness of any terrorist organization. But then that opens up the leaders to political attacks accusing them of being soft on terror. Which means that once again politics is ruining the country.

the only thing they can truly do is disrupt the global markets again, and thats the main fear i have.  Whether i should pull back my money for a period here.  That said, a Red Dawn like invasion isnt happening, but i can still plan that Zombie Al Queda operatives will be running up the road.

So... according to U.S. intel, an attempted terrorist attack is "certain", within the next six months. Has there ever been a six month period were an attempted attack wasn't certain since 9/11? Why even go public with this shtein? Our country is being run by and controlled by idiots.

Is this shocking to you? Do you honestly think another attack wouldn't happen?

What would make you think an attack would happen? Terrorists have been threatening almost constant attacks ever since 9/11 and we've had a grand total of what? Like 3 attempts in 8+ years? WTF. Stop listening to and believing the shtein that these idiots say. They're whole purpose in life is to try and scare people into thinking that an attack is imminent.

It is what it is. It will happen. People have been scared silly since 2001 thanks to W. His reign of fear is still going strong. Tea baggers thrive off that shtein. I think its completely ridiculous myself. I find it quite humorous. But you can't deny the fact that it will happen again.

Sure. Just like a meteorite is almost certainly going to hit the earth again. I just can't fathom a good reason to ever think or care about it. If it happens it will be tragic for those involved but you can't stop people from being crazy.

I think terrorists are behind the whole meteorite thing as well

So, it looks like I'm going to be taking a Golden Lab mix in as a foster dog for a few months. He's 10 years old and has an awful name - Dumper. Is he too old for me to change it?

phattymatty

I can't disagree with that. I would love to be able to kick terrorist ass on a country-wide scale, but it just isn't how things work.

What does bother me is the growth of the ideologies that are aligned with the terrorist agenda. They distract us with the violence (or threat of violence), while they also work subversively to erode our society. Either way, their goal is the destruction of the west as we know it.

It's never too late. But it will be easier if you change it to something similar sounding...like "Humper."

You're right, of course, but just because that is their stated goal doesn't mean that they have any capacity to accomplish that goal. shtein, my goal is to stick my tongue in Jessica Alba's ass, and I'll scream it from the mountain tops.
