interesting. in my search to answer my own question having never received an adequate or consistent answer from any of the "locals"  (there are hardly any) when i lived there i saw that oahu has the second highest attack rate.. then the puzzling one happens to be LBI.  i was always under the impression there hadn't been an attack there in like decades or something.  must have something to do with all the surfers at those particular spots.
