If you're hired your primary goal should be getting some more Erin Andrews footage

feva's taking this stalking thing to unprecedented levels......actually applying for a job at the same company as ea and is willing to not only uproot his family for it, but it going to take them to one of the whitest places on earth in the process.  i bet everyone up there starts calling you stuart scott.

i've really grown to almost hating espn over the years.  they've slowly turned themselves into tabloid sports journalism.  but i do get that it's about as good as it gets in your profession, so best of luck in getting the job.  i don't know how much a newscast director is able to influence the actual content of the broadcast, but if you have any input at all then maybe you can help steer the ship back on the same course that made them so great in 80's and 90's.

i don't watch espn much, but if theres a huge breaking news event, i know i can go to espn or espn news and get exactly what's going on
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

that's pretty much the only time i turn it on anymore as well.  that and actual sporting events.  i do love me some mike and mike though and since they broadcast on espn2, i turn that on in the morning while i'm getting ready for work.

Yeah, so... most, if not all of you know I work in TV.

Anyway, last week I flew up and interviewed for a job at ESPN.  I was impressed with them, and I believe they were impressed with me... and I'm pretty sure there's an offer coming this week.  If the offer's good enough to warrant uprooting the fam... I intend to break the color barrier and move to Connecticut.  As far as what I do (Newscast Directing)... this is pretty much the "big leagues" and there's sooooo many more opportunities for growth than there are at my current shteinhole station.  Awesome career opportunity.  I know a few people who work there and they co-sign everything that I've been hearing.  Love what they do.

Not to mention the timing couldn't be much better as my station have implemented furloughs (1st and 2nd Qtr) and pay cuts (3rd Qtr), laying off people all around me... and while my position appears safe for now... gotta be proactive about these things.  ESPN is doing relatively well, as they are still not only adding to their facilities, but adding jobs.

Anyway... this shtein was just on my mind while wishing I wasn't here at work.  You all care, farg you.

good luck!

I worked there back in 1997 as a temporary PA.  Had fun.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Spent the weekend on Long Island. Jones Beach is the most crowded public beach I've ever seen, god damn.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

It is of my opinion that beaches suck when they are crowded. I just picture most people taking a piss in the water I'm trying to swim in. Just like public farging pools. Not a fan.

Yeah, it wasn't much fun being surrounded by Guidos and their blowout haircuts.
