farg no I didn't know what the 'outer banks' were. Sounded interesting until you said North Carolina.

Yeah, unless you pay attention to shtein, you don't know stuff about the east coast out here. Most people wouldn't be able to tell you where 'The Hamptons' are located.

Also, when I went to Missouri in August...a lot of people kept talking about 'The Ozarks'. I had to breach my pride and ask what it was. I guess its a part of missouri that has lakes in it and people go vacationing in.

Also just known as "The Lake".

And hbionic - if you are discounting a beach vacation in NC just because it's NC, you are doing a great disservice to yourself.

As an example - did you know that NC has no law against topless sunbathing?  Exactly.  Topless women legal on all NC beaches.

OK, so hector may not care too much about that, but the rest of us sure do.

Except for the past 2 years we had spent 12 years going to Corolla, the final 10 in Pine Island, the farging beach houses were ridiculous there.

The Outer Banks are way way overrated.  Unless you're talking about the protected parks, which are all that and better.  The rest of is beach boardwalk strip mall hell, covered in tourist poaching vendors, idiotic vacationers pretending they're rich, and actuall rich people who suck.

I guess topless women is like cheese...you can put it on anything and make it that much better.

Is that a frequent spot for mid-westerners to east coasters? For some reason, beaches and east coast don't mix for me. It's stupid.

OK, so, what is the best beach out on the east coast? Virginia beach, the outer banks, new jersey?

Actually, Dio is spot on.  We don't hit the OBX area, but go down to Ocean Isle Beach which is way down the coast.  I also hear that Sunset beach is very nice as well.  very un-crowded, family-type atmosphere.  And close enough to Myrtle Beach to spend a few hours playing putt-putt and eating extremely fresh fish.

what the farg part of the outer banks are you going to?  i don't go there very often, maybe like 5 times ever, but i've never seen a boardwalk or a vendor in my life.  it's just huge beach houses and beach.  that's all.

Lake of the Ozarks is pretty damn nice.  And huge.  Infact, there's actually more "coastline" in Missouri than all of California.  Several thousand miles of beach going around the lakes if I'm not mistaken.

I go to the OBX.  If you get away from Kitty Hawk it's lovely.  We go to Southern Shores or Duck.

That said, I agree with Wingspan.
Anyone but Reid.

Demon is right, down south where there is less people is beautiful.  We always stayed in the rich houses Dio despises.  But it was our family reunion, and we had 21 people there.  I loved going down south in NC for the fishing.

I only think of two things when people talk about the Outer Banks:

Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Duck/Corolla = very nice

The rest of OBX = very meh

Went and had a new head unit installed in my truck today...with Sirius on it too. I decided to get it to help keep me company on my trip to Houston next week. I love it.

I just ate lunch at the airport at a table next to wolf blitzer. He was lecturing his mother about eating right and drinking more water. Very weird. Whenever i hear his voice, it reminds me of sitting in the airport, but this time he was like 2 feet away and not on tv.
