Yes, I'm still in but no, we don't get free haircuts.  Still gotta pay for them. 

Basically, what I asked for looks something sort of like this without the ghey looking sideburns (not exactly the same but it's the closest I could find)

When I was in I found a local place outside of MCRD that gave great cuts to military for $6. I had some really zesty ones on base but the final straw was when I told an old Filipina women I wanted my hair tapered on the side and a trim off the top. She took out the clippers - which would usually cause alarm but on base they sometimes cut the top part of your hair with them - then proceeded to shave the top of my head. I said "what the farg are you doing?" and stopped her but by then it was too late. I wound up having to get my head shaved to stay within standards (this was right after I started growing my hair back too) then complained to the NEX manager - which did next to nothing.
My g/f works at a high end salon that was rated in Philly magazine as one of the best in the area, for a mans haircut she charges $40....so I lucked out in that way.

No, not really.  We're not allowed to have either......on or off duty.  Not that it matters to me anyway.  I have no desire to wear an earing and I don't grow facial hair.  It takes me 3 or 4 days of not shaving just to grow a 5 o'clock shadow. 

On the flip side though, I have to shave my ballsack twice a day.

So I go to the promotion board for the second month in a row.  Hopefully I won't get kicked out this time.  I should be alright though since my 1SG will not be there this month, he absolutely hates me.  He says that I am a betrayer to the Corps because I am applying for OCS.

farg him and his failing to get better ass.  Go the OCS route, and don't look back.  And then don't forget to treat all the junior NCO's like shtein, forgetting completely where you came from.

That's why I left the USAF -- they rejected my application for OCS because I was 3 months over the age limit, and that was the first year in 10 they weren't accepting age wavers.  Looking back though, it worked out well for me, and probably for the USAF too.

Ha!  But Demon's right.  Farg him for trying to hold you back.  Dook's probably pissed because when he was coming up through the ranks he didn't have a degree so becoming an officer was never an option for him.  Get your butter bars and then make it a point just "happen to pass him in the parking lot" everyday for a month so he has to salute you.
