GWB has also passed James Buchanon and Jimmy Carter as the worst president ever.

Buchanon is clearly the worst president ever, then Hoover.  The hatred for GWB gets him thrown in the mix for this title, but if you look at it analytically its tough to put him past those two.  I am by no means defending GWB, but saying he's the "worst ever" is nothing more than partisan hyperbole.

Sorry, but despite his obvious shortcomings as a President he won't get past those two while the unemployment rate is below 5% and the economy is growing at an average of 3-4% a year.

Yeah, revoking the constitution and running up a big deficit is nothing - as long as the economy is doing OK, its all good.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

Rome

The Bush Administration's unending trashing of the Bill of Rights alone makes him the worst president ever.  Idiotic wars, reckless spending sprees, utterly inept handling of the "war" on terror, trashing the environment, domestic bungling of crises in our own country (New Orleans especially)... the list goes on and on.

I agree - he's the worst ever and not really even close, IMO.

Buchanon and Hoover both brought the US to the brink of collapse.  One could argue that it did collapse because of Buchanon and the Civil War he helped start.

The US today, despite all of the issues that have been raised, is far from collapse.  The economy has to be taken into account when measuring a President otherwise Carter wouldn't be mentioned.  Worst foreign policy ever I can buy, but worst President ever ain't happening until the economy falls apart.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ever since i can remember, for some reason when someone says "now we're cookin with gas," it makes me want to hurt them.  don't know why, i just hate that phrase.  but today at work someone said it and i could feel myself wanting to yell at them.

So i just had a cig in front of my building and was told by HR that they are going to start firing people for not smoking in the designated smoking area  :-D  I'd love to see that

Again Dio, not defending him, simply pointing out facts.

Iraq is a disaster that he personally responsible for and his foreign policy has set us back at least a decade or more, even with our allies.  In addition, many of his domestic policies can be questioned as far as their legality and whether or not they would pass constitutional muster...which is not "rare" in US history by the way.

Despite all that, Buchanon and Hoover were worse.
