Takeoffs are even better. The planes leave in the same direction as they land. And because the runway is fairly short, they have to sit there and fire the thrusters full blast.

How does one find a piece of beach that doesn't have anyone on it?  Does that happen much down there?

It was about 6:20 AM and there's hundreds of miles of beaches here.  Where that was taken is a mostly single family area where people live full time so fewer tourists are around.  There was probably 25 people nearby but not in those shots.
