so i was at the wedding of my college buddy today. great time bla bla bla. anyway, his dad wasnt there (i initially thought he was dead).

turns out like 2 years ago my buddies dad said something super republican and offensive in front of both sets of families. it got weird. then he refused to apologize even though he admitted he should. so they dont talk anymore and he wasnt invited to his sons wedding. he went to a funeral instead.

that is some dark shtein. by the way they are irish, as if that wasnt obvious.

My sister recently ran off on her husband of nine months--after dragging the whole family across country for the wedding--with a married (with children) man and doesn't understand why I have basically nothing nice to say to her, and don't want to hear shtein about her soap opera life.   The older I get, the more glad I am that I have a tiny family.  My mom, my brother, my sister, and my mother's sister/my aunt.  That's it.  Leaves me more time to spend energy on people of my choosing, who don't do stupid shtein like wreck other families.
