Theres one thing different from 911 and Vietnam,  WWI, WWII, or Pear Harbor. They were civilians going about thier everyday lives, not soldiers. And it was an attack on American soil.

Yeah, a military base. A planned military strike/attack, not a terrorist attack. 911 was a planned attack meant to kill innocent civilians. Even the Japanease, as radical as they were in the 30's and 40's, would have never done anything close to 911.

Incorrect. The Japanese had all kinds of plans to use biological agents on the American public, and tried unsuccessfully to send up balloons that would drift in high altitude to drop bombs and chemical agents on American cities to cause panic, doubt, and demoralize.

you beat me to it.  countless cities have been carpet bombed.. especially by us.  hell, ending the war cost japan two cities via nuclear weapons, the very same thing we worry about happening today with a dirty bomb.  the only thing different between 9/11 and leveling any other building, city, etc. with civilians in it is we did it with warplanes and bombs.. they used our own civilian planes against us.  war is war.. no reason to fight fair.  as for all the memorials, i couldn't care less.  whatever makes you feel better about it.  the thing that really irks me is the profit made off of all the 9/11 commemorative shtein. 

I thought we were talking about Pearl Harbor vs 911, not about something the Japanease were thinking about doing.

LB, you make a valid point about the bombing that went on in WWII, although I see a difference in what I'd consider retaliation that was provoked by the attack on Pearl Harbor. I just don't see it the same. It wasn't like we did it because we hated the Japanease like the terrorist just plain hate our guts for what we represent and how we live.

Arming and funding Israel is a big one, yes.  Supporting/installing evil dictators throughout the middle east and the muslim world generally, in order to keep getting their oil, even as we claim to be the paragons of democracy and freedom, would be another.  Invading and occupying Iraq and Afghanistan...
