your run-of-the-mill below-average NY pizza would be known as the best pizza in town almost anywhere else in the U.S.

this is true....there is great pizza and when you get a truly great one its an almost heavanly experience....but to me there is no terrible pizza...and by terrible i mean you cant eat it

like a 5 on the pizza scale would be a 1 on almost any other foods scale

seven eleven pizza for example...awful pizza right...but only in terms of pizza...its still very edible food...i have never tasted a pizza that i couldnt physically eat

the best pizza i ever had came out of a truck in nyc, but i think pizza in nyc as a whole is pretty overrated.

i've actually taken the subway to costco for lunch before...i actually really like their pizza. and their hot dogs. and their sundaes.

Costco used to have this steak that was rolled up like a cinnabon, but they put spinach, red peppers, onions, and feta in side.  farging awesome.  I haven't seen it in a long while though, and resorted  to making it on my own.  It was cheaper to buy it in store.

I don't care to argue about it but it's always seemed to me that the latter is a riff on pizza..a stylized pizza inspired thing...it's not really pizza.
