Yeah, $5million/year is worth a guy that scored 2 TD's last year when Brady threw for 26....cmon now. COMPLIMENTARY not a difference maker....we have 4 of them.

He's also only 25 and has 3 SB rings. Look what the other free agent WRs have signed for, that's what the market has dictated. He wsa the best FA WR on the market IMO.

just because the market dictates that doesnt mean a team has to be foolish and sign the guy. How much do you really think David Givens would help Donavan McNabb? His breakaway speed, knack for the end zone, leaping ability and fantastic hands...cmon SD...please stop.

SD_Eagle5

I don't know, 59 catches 738 yards 2 TDs in only 13 games and he's only 25? Guess that wouldn't help McNabb much. Gald we signed Gaffney instead.

MURP

Titans signed Givens to be their #1.  That is worth the money.

PoopyfaceMcGee

A guy named Marlin is setting off Dave on only the 2nd call of Eagles Live.  Quality stuff.

......#2 behind Bennett

The BIGSTUD

Givens is not a #1 receiver outside of NE. He was there because Brady is so great, but he is not going to be a good #1 WR outside of NE. He won't sniff 1,000 yards as a Titan.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Check that Branch was #1 in NE. Don't know what the farg I was thinking for a second.

He definitely won't be a quality #1 in Tennessee.

Gaffney might surprise you- 55 catches on a $htein squad, and he's by far faster than Givens...with height. Only 13 games?? How many do you need...there's only 16 games in a season. Your argument is null and void--the Eagles made the right move

Just saying how I see it man, just saying how I see it.

The way I see it is, is Givens better than Gaffney? Yes. Is Givens a lot better than Gaffney? No. Can Gaffney be better than Givens in this system? Yes.

this is a good point

whats really funny is that few eagle fans would have a problem if the eagles gave reggie brown the contract givens just got...somehow givens stinks and reggie brown is the next chad johnson

i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

phattymatty

if all we're going to do is pick up one complimentary WR this offseason, and I had to pick between Givens and Gaffney, I'd go with Gaffney.  i don't think it's enough, but i like the gaffney signing.

which is no different than saying, can Givens be better than Gaffney in this system? Yes.

reese125

forget the height part on Gaffney..only an inch taller, but I digress

PoopyfaceMcGee

Can Reggie Brown be better than Jesus Christ in this system?  Of course.
