thats fine and like i said if they take him i wouldnt complain...but the way people talk about him on the board youd think he was some freak like veedee or mario williams

im not asking for ted washington type but i want more of a run stopping dt...they have enough pattersons...walkers...bunkleys rayburns ect....

I'd almost prefer Rod Wright to Bunckley.
Honestly, if you are serious I dont know what to say other then you are crazy. Rod Wright has done nothing in my eyes to warrant a day 1 pick besides his sophomore year, which was over 2 years ago.

School: Texas
   Position: Defensive Tackle
   Class: 2006
   Height: 6'5"
   Weight: 315lbs
   Birthday: 7/31/84

Positives

- Wright might be one of the most athletic big men in all of college football.    He moves very well on his feet for a man of his size.  Rod has been a starter and an anchor for the Longhorn defense since his freshman season.   He has the rare combination of speed and strength that make him equally effective against both the pass and the run.  Wright is willing and able to take on double teams to allow his teammates to make plays.   He has good recognition instincts and is a very able wrap up tackler.  Durability may be a slight question with him, but he has shown a willingness to play through pain.   Wright has also developed into a team leader during his time in Texas.

Weaknesses

- Wright's production took a hit during his junior season when he suffered a serious ankle injury early on.   He relies a bit too much on his strength and speed to penetrate the line.  He will need to develop some hand moves to be truly effective against pro blockers.   Wright has also been labeled as lazy in the past, but that seems to be behind him now.

Overall Analysis

- Wright is definitely an elite prospect that has the potential to be a truly dominating player at the next level.   He already possesses all of the physical traits NFL personnel look for at his position, but he will need some refinement to become great. Even though he may need work, there is little doubt that Wright will make an immediate impact when he does become a pro.   The slip in production during his junior season is still a concern though.  His ability to effectively defend against both the run and the pass is rare and that alone will make him a hot commodity on draft day 2006.

Reminds You Of:

- Shaun Rogers

So he injures his ankle his junior year and his stock falls.  He should fall to 14.

If I had an ice-pick right now, i'd jab it in your ear for thinking that.

it's obvious they are signing Buckner so they have another DT when the Hollis/Walker trade goes through

SunMo, I know I posted it and if this were only to be so true...Id take back all those cute things I said about you the other day. Walker would be a gift from the gods...a legit #1.

Buckner? Guys if you saw him last year, he was never available for games, always dealing with an injury on a consistent basis and is not even close as a force he was when that Carolina line dominated all of football. There is a reason behind that 35 year old body. That age is not meant for Defensive lineman....offensive yes, defensive...hell no.

$htein, bring in Willie McGinnest if thats the case....guys got a knack for the ball.

ice grillin you

If Reggie Brown gets hurt and Pinkston cant recovery fully from injury... the Eagles starting WR's are Greg Lewis and Billy McMullen.  ha.

And we pray.

Buckner would be an awful signing, I'd rather just keep Hollis if it meant bringing his slow, old as in here. Unless I missed it Bernard's still out there, he's a perfect fit for this defense and fills an immediate need. Why isn't he an option again?

Marv Leavy might actually be doing us a favor here by holding on to him. Im guessing/praying the Birds are waiting to put the hammer on this Moulds thing.....they know they have to have someone compete for the #1. You'd be foolish to have a 2nd year guy as your #1 receiver if you want to go to the Super Bowl.......bring the thunder Birds...pull the trigger on Moulds when he gets cut for the love of....!!
