WTF is this team doing? This is looking exactly like last year. Sign a backup TE and a backup QB. Just like last year. It's a farging joke.
At least we get to wear these cool shirts

:-D Nice one BM

New England receiver David Givens, who played at Humble High School, had been scheduled to visit the Texans today but re-signed with the Patriots late Saturday.

Looks like Givens is gone now too.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

According to Bob Brookover, the Eagles are bringing in Darren Howard today(sunday). Found it on the EMB.

Two league sources said that defensive end Darren Howard is scheduled to visit the Eagles today at the NovaCare Complex.

Howard drew the Eagles' interest two years ago when he was a free agent, but the team signed Jevon Kearse instead. Howard, 29, averaged nearly 71/2 sacks in six seasons with the Saints, including 11 two years ago. He had a career-low 31/2 sacks last season and missed the final four games with a knee injury.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Howard's a good player that fits the Eagles' MO of getting guys coming off injury.  The good news is that he can play DT or DE, depending on situation, in Jim Johnson's scheme.  If they get him, I think they insert him into the starting lineup as a DT and move him to the edge on running downs/goalline situations.

But just having confirmation that he's in for a visit would be a nice start.

Speaking of good young players coming off of injury... I'm still curious as to whether or not Julian Peterson could play strongside.  I haven't heard much about interest in him across the league yet, and he definitely fits the Eagles' plans of getting those younger guys with a lot of football left coming off of injury.

Peterson couldn't be worse than Dhani at strongside, and who are we kidding anyway... Lewis or Dawkins end up on coverage against the best TE's anyway, not the strongside backer.

Peterson would be a guy I think the Eagles should pursue.  But they probably won't, because he has a bad attitude and wants big money, despite coming off the injury.  Blah blah.

QuoteI know you guys want to see the Eagles add a receiver. I don't know anything 100 percent, but I think the Eagles will add a receiver (not one who suited up in 2005). I got that feeling.

If Schobel is signed...that's one more need the Eagles can eliminate.

You'd think so, but since when does the Eagles front office feel it has to answer to public opinion?

Ummm... so, he's simply talking about a draft pick?  The only other guy that could mean would be Javon Walker, but he suited up, albeit briefly, in 2005.

Walker would certainly brighten my outlook on the off-season.
