i hit Port of Call and Domilese's when I was in new orleans.  both were off the charts.

i found this underground mexican place which is basically just some old mexican couple's tiny apartment in dc....tacos were amazing. you call them and they drop keys out the window for you to get in. there were like 3 guatemalan guys in there eating and watching mexican wrestling on tv. i had tacos made of brains and head. it may be my new favorite place to eat.

Quick question, wife and I are celebrating her birthday this weekend.  Ruth Chris' or Morton's?   Been to Ruth Chris' numerous times and we love it.  We've never been to Morton's but we've heard a lot of good things about it.  Went to Wolfgang's Steakhouse last year.  Good, not earth shattering but good.

agreed that there is literally no difference between the two...i have ruth chris, mortons and the palm all with a few blocks of my crib and i go to the palm more than the others...only because it has a better atmosphere and more star farging opportunities.

if i'm taking a lady i'd rather go to an "indie" steak house which is just as good but cheaper and load up on drinks. bill ends up being the same but you are drunker.

but to answer your question, if it has to be between those two, i'd go mortons. i enjoy the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella even more than the steak sometimes.

Jose Andres has a food truck and yesterday as I was walking to lunch I spotted it parked a block from my office...ended up bailing on plans and just ordered from the truck instead. was just a standard chicken club but it was bangin. really really good.

2. ground round - 81% - thought these had gone out of business like 20 years ago

they put one up here some months ago and  I have never tasted worse restaurant food in my life. the 2 cars in the parking lot at all times is a dead give away
