As long as the Seahawks can work out an extension, they'll be good to go.  I'm sure the Falcons were halfway done, but couldn't get it done in time.

Piss-Squirrelly loses again!

From Schefter's article...

QuoteMeanwhile, in a blockbuster trade that is purely speculation at this point, Pro Bowl defensive end John Abraham, whom the Jets finally were able to deal, was sent to Seattle for the Seahawks' first-round draft pick, the 31st overall selection. The deal is contingent upon the Seahawks being able to sign Abraham to a long-term contract extension, something that has been challenging the past couple of seasons.

He changed it I think. I don't remember it saying that before.

On a whirlwind Friday, the New York Jets completed one trade, for now, that has reshaped their roster.

The Jets sent their sixth-round pick to the Washington taterskins for quarterback Patrick Ramsey, a former first-round pick. The Jets have been seeking a quarterback of Ramsey's quality in recent weeks and at various points were close to completing the deal with the taterskins. Friday the deal went through.

Light Bulb Head is reporting Seattle for #31 as well...

Is there any reason at all the eagles could not have swung a deal for this guy?

I mean I know a lot goes into it: Where the guy wants to play, what the other team is asking, what the player is asking but damn the 31st pick?  We could have traded back, picked up another pick and got Abraham, line set.

Falcons traded a 4th round pick to Cleveland for FS/SS/CB Chris Crocker.
