The salary cap is a myth perpetuated by Paul Tagliabue and Jeffrey Lurie to keep the Philly fan down.

How?  They already traded that pick for Lloyd...

We didn't land a first round DT. A first round DT landed on us!

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

perhaps because its not a 2007 pick...ive yet to see where the year has been mentioned

"Terrible trade by Washington."

how do you figure? Its called realizing you have a shot.  they feel like they will win the division. you make the neccessary moves regardless of "future swapping". their trying to win a god damn superbowl--hear that Joe

The taterskins don't need Duckett.  A 3rd and 4th or a 3rd plus a swap of firsts is way too much for a team that needs Duckett.  With Betts and Portis, the taterskins certainly don't qualify, but they clearly have no problem selling away their future.  Duckett has never produced up to expectations.

The trade was incorrectly reported originally.

BEFORE:  If Washington has a worse record than Denver, the teams swap 1sts
NOW: If Denver has a worse record than Washington, the teams swap 1sts

So if the Skins do better than the Broncos they will then get a better draft pick in the first round? How the farg did they swing that? I don't really see that happening, but still. What the farg?

hmm....hold on a sec....where did I see that?  That doesn't make sense...

Basically, the trade ensures that Washington has the better pick, right?

they are obviously worried about Portis' health for the long run of the season. with those 2 backs they can carry the load--more-so Betts who is a good RB. would you rather lose Portis to an injury during the season and just have Betts, or would you rather have the essential back up to Betts as well? Sounds smart to me

"but they clearly have no problem selling away their future."

weve been saying this for how long now each year and look what they are able to pull off?

QuoteBased on the two teams' finish in the upcoming season the Broncos, at best, could end up with the taterskins' first- and third-round picks in the 2007 draft if the taterskins finish with a worse record than the Broncos.

In that scenario the Broncos and taterskins would flip-flop first-round picks with Denver moving up and the taterskins moving down. The Broncos would then get the taterskins third-round pick as well.

If the taterskins finish with a better record than the Broncos, Denver gets the taterskins' third- and fourth-round picks next April.

OK, nevermind.....it's back to what was originally reported...

So if Washington collapses and finishes with a top 10 pick, they'll lose it to Denver...

rjs246

OK that makes a lot more sense. For Denver.
