Quote• The early indications out of taterskins camp were that QB Todd Collins, who played under Al Saunders in Kansas City, had a far better grasp of the offensive system than second-year QB Jason Campbell. If Mark Brunell went down tomorrow, you'd see Collins, not Campbell, starting.

QB of the future!

Didn't the Skins trade away 2 First Rounders (the First That Year and The First for Next Year) to Denver for Jason Campbell?  I seem to remember some bad deal the Skins made for him - but since this is a common occurance with them, they all run together.

They traded a 2nd last year and a 1st this year.

I think they actually threw in a 4th rounder in there, too.

QuoteThis little nugget was emailed to me from Jim Haygood, via a story in the South Carolina State newspaper. It dealt with what the Gamecocks football program was going to do in case Lou Holts left...

"McGee said Monday there was no succession agreement in place until after the 2001 season, when the Washington taterskins offered Holtz the job to replace Marty Schottenheimer, who had been fired after one season."

REACT: Wow. And to think we missed the second failed coming of "NFL Lou" v. 2.0. Just remember this, everytime you hear somebody say Dan Snyder is a good owner, because "he is willing to do anything to win

From Steve Czaban's website.

Imagine if they would've hired Lou Holtz. :-D

I don't care. He spends a ridiculious amount of money on free agents and aimlessly trades draft picks away. He also rehired God. He's a great owner.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

You won't get a lick of an argument from IGY.  Dan Snyder is his hero.

He also saved the NFL & deforested part of a national park.

QuoteJacobs Absent

Nine players likely will not travel to Cincinnati for tomorrow night's game. Among them is wide receiver Taylor Jacobs.

Being inactive for an exhibition game hurts a player's chance to make the team, even for a fourth-year player such as Jacobs, who faces major competition at his position.

"It's not in my hands," Jacobs said. "I ran hard in practice."

Jacobs acknowledged that the difficult job of making the taterskins' roster has grown more difficult with this latest injury.

"I know it's going to be tough to make it here," he said. "I know I have the talent, it's just a question of getting the ball a little bit more."

Don't the Skins fans on here talk up Jacobs? lol
