the steelers are going to crush the seahawks.  its destiny for the "BUS".  oh i can' wait for the media hype on that  :puke

but really i can't see the seahawks winning.  i don't think its going to be a blowout, but the steelers got that toughness about them.  polamalu is an absolute beast at SS.  im won't be surprised if he wins MVP.  big ben is playing very well, but all the pressure of the super bowl could get to him and he could hsve a major choke day too.  hes still very young.  thats the only way the seahawks win, if big ben has a bad day.  other than that, its pitts game to win.

I disagree.  The hawks have the better offensive line, rb, and qb.  Pitts d is better but the hawks d is not too bad either.  I see this game as going either way...who ever gets the TO wins the game.  Can Big Ben put three strong performances together? If he doesnt the hawks will win!

I hope the Steelers win, and I will be semi-rooting for them.  While I have friends that are Steelers fans, my only real reason for this is that I don't want another team taken off the "hasn't won a Super Bowl" list until the Eagles manage to win one.  So... farg Holmgren.  Farg the ex-PSU WR's.  Farg Lofa Tatupu, and farg Rocky Bernard.

Gooooo Stillers.

Im hoping the Seahawks win because there are exactly zero Seahawk fans that I know... so there would be no post game shenanigans.  In fact, there might be zero Seahawk fans outside of Seattle.

And I hate the Steelers.

All my friends are Steelers fans but I secretly am going against them in the SB because I'm petty like most of you & don't want to see my friends happy.

Also, I still see Hines Ward in my mind, flapping his arms & grinning like he just smoked a bong. Farger.

I'm one who thinks that they are pretty evenly matched. I think Seattle has a real shot to win this game. At first I was rooting for Pittsburgh because I wanted to see Bettis get a ring. But now I'm gettin a little sick of the Steeler pimping already. So I don't know...

Quarterback: Seattle - As well as Roethlisberger has been playing the edge goes to Hasselbeck here because of experience. But both of them are SB rookies so who knows which one the butterfly's will affect worse.

Runningback: Seattle - Yeah Pittsburgh is a smashmouth team and all, but Alexander is better than Parker & Bettis.

Wide Receiver: Even - Ward, Randle-El & Wilson vs. Jackson, Engram & Jurevicius...Ward is the best of this bunch but this group of SEA WR's isn't like last year. They have been clutch.

Tight End: Even - Jerramy Stevens has really had a good year this year but so has Heath Miller. They're about even in my eyes. Miller will be better overall in the long run but right now I give the edge to Stevens.

O-Line: Seattle - Walter Jones is the best OL in the NFL. Steve Hutchinson is one of the best in the NFL. Sean Locklear, Robbie Tobeck and Chris Gray are all solid. Pittsburgh has one of the best in the nFL as well in Alan Faneca but their OT spots can be taken advantage of.

D-Line: Seattle - Even though Casey Hampton is one of the best NT's in the game the Seattle DL has been money all year long.

LB's: Pittsburgh - As well as Tatupu and Hill have played the Pitsburgh LB's are very, very good.

DB's: Pittsburgh - Seattle has the edge on CBs alone but Troy Polamalu is a flat out stud.

Intangibles: Pittsburgh - They are on a roll. They have been gameplanning very well for Big ben to succeed and Polamalu has been on a roll as well. Cowher and Holmgren are both good coaches but Mike has won the SB before whereas Bill has lost it. But I like the way the Steelers have been playing and momentum is a thing to pay attention to.

This is going to be a close one, IMO. I wouldn't be surprised to see SEA win it either.

Pittsburgh is going to stomp the Seahawks.  I always thought I would want to represent PA if the Steelers went and the Eagles didn't, but I really want them to lose.  But they won't.

Pitt may win but they most definitely wont stomp them.

PoopyfaceMcGee

You may find this hard to believe, but the Seachickens beating the taterskins doesn't make them a top-flight team.

Pittsburgh just beat the 3 top seeds in the AFC on the road in 3 straight weeks.  They're good, and if things go the right way, they could absolutely stomp the hell out of Seattle.

The BIGSTUD

I think Pitt has a MUCH better defense than Seattle, and they are better coached too.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

Better coached?  This is Holmgren's third trip to the big dance as a head coach.  And unlike Bill Cowher, he's actually won one before.

You guys dissing Seattle might be in for a bit of a shock yourselves.

Well, that is if you give a shtein about this game, anyway.

You forgot that coaching is 40% physical appearance, 50% personality & 10% actual success. Cowher looks more like a NFL head coach & gets extra points for always looking angry on the sideline, thereby making him the victor.

Rome

Cowher looks like a door-to-door cuttlery salesman to me.

You know, you hear the doorbell, open the door and there's some scary looking primate staring back at you.

Blah blah blah, I'm Phreak and I'm breaking down the teams, blah blah blah.

Agree with pretty much all of your commentary but I'd like to add one thing that you left out and it very well could be the deciding factor in this game.

Special Teams.  Both kickers are solid but neither one of them strikes me as a clutch or big game kicker.  Not like Vinatierri or prior to this year, Akers.  They're about even.

Both teams have solid coverage units.  One thing that Seattle was killing Carolina on was by downing punts inside the 10.  I think they had 3 or 4 in the game downed inside the 10 and 2 inside the 5.  I'll give the slight edge to Seattle on that one.

In the return game (which is where I think the big difference will be made) the Steelers have an edge with Randle El over Warrick.   The guy who gives their team the best starting field position will be the team that wins imo and I'm giving that edge to Pitt.

PhillyPhreak54

Whoops. Forgot all about the STs but PIT does have the edge there.
