NFL.com reports Nathan Mallett, the fan who ran onto the field at Cleveland Browns Stadium during a Pittsburgh Steelers-Cleveland Browns game was sentenced to spend Super Bowl weekend in jail. He will begin his three-day sentence Friday, Feb. 3 and won't be allowed to watch the Feb. 5 game on television or listen to it on radio. The judge also ordered Mallett not to attend Browns games in Cleveland or any other city for five years as a condition of his probation. He also must perform 150 hours of community service with Browns charities. He could have been sentenced to up to 30 days in jail.

The video of James Harrison slamming the dude...set to "Move bitch, get out the way"

I would have loved to have gotten a close up of that asshat's face when Harrison wrapped him up.  It was probably worse than the face that dude made in Detroit last year when he was laughing after throwing a beer at Artest and then Artest came in the stands after him.

PhillyPhreak54

Yeah, that loser had the perfect "OH shtein" face. "

Hahahah...oh shtein. I about to get my ass whupped. Let me direct this angry sumbitch to the guy on my left who didn't throw the beer."

Damn... if you think about it... if this guy's a real die hard, that's a pretty farged up sentence.  Not even so much the SB cuz he had to know there's no chance in hell of the Browns making it... but not going to any games for 5 years?  I'd flip the farg out if someone told me that I couldn't go to any Eagles games for half a decade.  Slap on a month of charity work after that... hope it was worth getting "Rock Bottomed" in front of 60,000 people.

You do something that stupid, you should get penalized in a meaningful way.  He's losing what he wants most.  Tough shtein, moron.

I love it.  Especially the injunction to stay away from all future games for five goddamned years.

um, how are they exactly going to know if he's at a stadium with 60,000 people at it?  as long as the dumb ass doesn't go and get raped on the field again he should be good.

Chances are no one would notice.  But I'm sure he's been flagged with ticketmaster and each individual teams ticket sales office that would prevent hiim from purchasing tickets in his own name.

But if he got tickets from a scalper/ebay/ticket broker/friend/etc I highly doubt anyone from the stadium staff would recognize him on sight.

MadMarchHare

It's a requirement of his probation.  The possibility of going back to jail for an extended period of time would be enough to keep me away.
Anyone but Reid.

Wingspan

perhaps he has to check in from a land line during a game?

Pfft.  If he did the 30 days in county, he'd be out scot-free with no restrictions.

Why people just don't do the time is beyond me.  Screw all the probationary crap and the community service nonsense.

PhillyPhreak54

Screw that. Gimme probation. I wouldn't want to spend one day in jail.

This is utter nonsense. Every word of it.

"Hey boss, I'm gonna need the next 30 days off. Yeah, I kinda ran on to the field during a game a couple weeks ago - you saw that - and now I've got to spend a month in lockup. It was that or community service, and I just don't have the time for that. So, you know, you might want to get an intern in here or something. I'll see you next month. Have a good weekend!"
